Electron Microscopy and Analysis Group: Microscopy of Energy Materials

Session organisers: Prof Ken Durose (Liverpool), Prof Thomas Höche, Prof Pratibha Gai and Dr Cate Ducati

Wednesday 2nd July from 13.30-15.00 and Thursday 3rd July from 10.00-12.15

We invite papers reporting either advances in the understanding of materials for energy applications or in microscopy techniques for energy materials. Applications include, but are not limited to, materials for photovoltaics, batteries and energy storage, thermoelectrics, fuel cells, nano and novel materials for energy. We also encourage papers on advanced microscopy methods, including TEM, STEM and HRTEM, diffraction and analysis methods, SEM, CL, EBIC, optical and scanning optical microscopy and scanning probe microscopy methods.

Invited Speakers:

Dr Susanne Selle

"Microstructure Analyses and Structure-Property Relationships of Ag1-xPb18Sb1+yTe20"

Professor Ju Li

"In Situ TEM Experiments of Electrochemical Lithiation and Delithiation of Individual Nanostructures"

Dr Kenta Yoshida

"Dynamic wet-ETEM observation of deactivation processes of platinum electrode catalysts in a proton exchange membrane fuel cell"
